Most of my spare time right now has been taken up by practicing knitting. I can now sufficiently knit the knit stitch and the purl stitch together and actually make something out of a ball of yarn. I am currently working on a set of dishcloths for a friend's wedding in May, and I will have a more detailed post soon once I get them finished.
I was also fortunate to win tickets to see David Sedaris give a talk this week, so I will leave you with excerpts from my favorite essay, "The Santaland Diaries."
I haven't been around too much to post, but I know I need to check in here once in a while.
*As I mentioned in the last post - I've been having some recurring sinus issues that have been draining my energy when I am at home. Thankfully, I've only missed one day of work, so I'm just hoping these problems will go away soon.
*I'm also spending a lot of my spare time practicing knitting. I have random squares of knitted yarn next to my bed and I have been trying different yarns and different needles. I've just learned the purl stitch so I am now working on my second project from a pattern. I will have pictures soon, I promise!
*I'm looking forward to Spring for photos and a friends' wedding, winter can't get over fast enough!
I will leave you with a song from a new band called The Lone Bellow. I like them a lot.
I've been doing really well in keeping myself healthy enough for work, and finally the common cold has caught up with me.
I've been meaning to write about my latest craft attempts but I have been busy trying to get it going. I've been teaching myself how to knit - I've managed to complete the basic knit/garter stitch and I can do a basic knit cast on. Despite the coughing and sneezing I intend to finish my first proper project this weekend which is a coffee cozy pattern that has all the basic skills that I can do at the moment. I will write about that later this week hopefully.
Until then, stay warm and I will leave you with one of my favorite Ice Dance routines.
I'm a sucker for awards shows, and last night's Golden Globes had me thinking that I need to make a list of the movies I want to see. Where better to do it then here? Feel free to comment if you have seen any!
I'm sure there's more but that's what comes to mind right now!
