This weekend I attempted to do a lot of sewing in a short time. I am new to sewing and I haven't been able to practice lately, so I was thrilled to have some time to get some things done!
Here's how I made two old shirts into pillow covers.
I started by taking over the dining room table with my sewing machine, cutting mat and other various items.

The two shirts I used were button down, so I planned to use the buttons to make the cases washable and interchangeable with the two pillow forms I purchased.

Despite my best attempts to unbutton and spread the shirt out wide on the table,
I could not get a decent clean cut edge on any side.

I pinned the squarelike shapes together, and then attempted to sew straight lines on all four sides of the soon-to-be pillow cases.

Here's the finished product before I shoved the pillow form into the cover.
Thank goodness for clothing fabric that stretches!

Success! I also made a solid colored cover so that the old green chair could have a little variety.

I have two more shirts that need to be made, but I will get to those soon, because Sunday ended up being dedicated to one single project which I am still trying to figure out if I like it or not.
I'll figure it out in a day or two and share on here!
